What Happen To The Public Transportation Revamp Plan?

Our public transportation system is pretty suck, big time. The government, in each year’s budget released millions if not billions of ringgit to improve them. Now, after waiting and waiting (just like our friends waiting for their buses for hours in a hot humid day), it is still the same.

We recalled during we were innocent school boys, we heard of this complaint before. Then, we are already in our early thirties and the fuel price was at RM1.90, we heard and read from the newspapers about it again. Complaints and proposed solution, complaints and proposed solutions, but so far nothing works. Then, we hear it again when the fuel price were at RM2.70 but this time the public transportation revamp story got extra hot and spicy when the ministers, politicians, NGOs, members of public and everybody talks about it. Due to pressure, the government agrees to look into it in a very serious manner. Rapid KL or what-ever-name it is, was given a task to come up with a plan and execute it once approved.

After months of hot and spicy situation on this story, as a normal citizen, we thought that it will happen this time. But with the fuel price at all time low (according to some), we think this revamp of the public transportation is just as good as dead.

All our Malaysian friends who can’t afford to buy their own bikes or cars, seems have to continue with their struggle. A struggle to go from Point A to Point B. More struggle if they want to go to Point D. As you know, the Malaysian weather is not helping much, with its extra hot and humid, or rain. Pity them..
But, who to blame? We are pretty sure that some of those budgeted money had been spent along the way. We know that the government is doing the best it can in terms of the financials and willingness to fork out the money, and leave the plan and execution to the company or entity who knows and familiar about it. But it seems quiet. Very, very quiet..
